Joseph Jaffre, co-owner of the Roger Sherman Inn, is a veteran of the restaurant and hospitality industry. Since starting his career at the New York institutions Le Bernadin and La Grenouille, he has always taken a hands-on approach to his work in hospitality.
His charming disposition and passion for delivering exquisite customer service has enabled him to build two successful businesses. Le Chateau in South Salem was his first endeavor after his time in New York. During his twenty-seven years of ownership, the property emerged as a prestigious wedding destination. After a two year sabbatical, he discovered the Roger Sherman Inn and immediately saw the potential to breathe life into this New Canaan institution.
With his partner, Nes Jaffre, they committed to elevating the historic New England inn into a desired
destination for fine dining, boutique lodging, catering and special events. Over the last decade, Joseph has been integral to the financial oversight and growth of the business. However, to guests, he is known as the charming and familiar face of the Roger Sherman Inn.
As a New Canaan resident, Joseph takes great pride in the preservation of this historic landmark. His vision for the Inn is always evolving. He is excited about the recent renovation of the inn’s rooms and the new open floor plan, which makes it easier to accommodate weddings and large-scale events in addition to meetings and intimate gatherings.
Nes Jaffre is the co-owner and operator of the Roger Sherman Inn. Since purchasing the Inn in 2008 with Joseph Jaffre, Nes has provided the aesthetic vision for the restaurant, inn, event spaces and grounds.
From the moment Nes first dined at the Inn in 2006, she fell in love with the space, its rich history and sense of community. An interior designer by trade, Nes immediately saw the potential in this New Canaan institution and knew it would be her next big project with Joseph.
Over the past decade, Nes has continued to reinvent the Inn to ensure its relevance as a culinary and special events destination with a reputation for distinguished food and warm hospitality. In addition to its quintessential New England charm, Nes’s approach to personalized customer service and attention to detail has solidified the Inn’s
reputation as a place for friends, families and loved ones to come together to celebrate life’s special events.
Always looking forward, Nes has big plans for the Inn’s future. A passionate owner who is committed to providing unique and memorable experiences, she has perfected the art of creating a home away from home for everyone who visits.
